New research from the journal “Cell Metabolism” reports that people who fast every other day could lose more weight than they would if they followed a diet plan without intermittent fasting.
Assessing people in a randomized controlled trial among healthy adults without obesity or diabetes, researchers measured the effect of intermittent fasting on body weight, cardiovascular risk markers like cholesterol and blood pressure, along with molecular markers of aging. The researchers even had participants wear a continuous blood glucose monitor to make sure they didn’t cheat on the fasting.
This is a good study that goes a long way to support the growing science of metabolic medicine. If you would like to know more about personalized metabolic typing for your health concerns, please contact us here.
